Bio
Dr. Jean Ferreri is a board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialist who brings extensive experience and expertise to Rivergate Veterinary Clinic. Originally from New York City, Dr. Ferreri is excited to return home.
Dr. Ferreri completed her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at Cornell University. Following graduation, she pursued a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey, where she remained as a general practitioner before advancing her training. In 2003, she completed a small animal internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania, establishing her specialization in complex medical cases.
Dr. Ferreri’s career as a specialist began at the Center for Specialized Veterinary Care on Long Island, after which she spent nearly 15 years practicing at BluePearl Veterinary Specialists in Manhattan. Following a break to care for family, Dr. Ferreri returned to clinical practice in April 2023 at Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty in Maryland. Her extensive experience in referral medicine has given her particular expertise in immune mediated disease, endocrine disorders such as Diabetes, gastrointestinal conditions, and kidney disease. She has a special passion for caring for geriatric patients, understanding the unique medical challenges that come with age.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Ferreri shares her home with her partner Mark and they are excited to adopt a few new NYC cats to complete their family! She enjoys traveling, theater, photography, gardening, and running.
