Bio

Dr. Jennifer Zanaty is originally from Big Sandy, a small town in West Tennessee. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in 2006. After graduation, she moved out West to Nevada and Colorado, where she expanded her clinical skills and later completed her certification in veterinary acupuncture through Colorado State University.

After several years in Colorado, Dr. Zanaty returned to Tennessee and began her career in emergency medicine at BluePearl Veterinary Partners. Her love of adventure eventually led her abroad to Christchurch, New Zealand, where she practiced at a local emergency clinic and treated a wide range of species—including rabbits, birds, and even a blue penguin.

She later returned to her home state and continued her work in emergency medicine before relocating to Chattanooga. Dr. Zanaty has now transitioned into private practice, where she is passionate about ensuring that all families have access to quality veterinary care for their beloved pets.

Her lifelong dedication to animals was shaped early on by her mother, who never turned away the rescue dogs and cats that Dr. Zanaty and her brother brought home despite limited resources. Today, she is grateful for the opportunity to care for the community’s pets with the broad experience she has gained over the years.

Dr. Zanaty shares her home with six rescued animals—three dogs and three cats—and has a special place in her heart for blind pets. Two of her own, a 17-year-old Maltese named Nini and a cat she adopted during a trip to Egypt named Koda, rule the household with confidence and charm.
