Bio
Dr. Jessie Scaglione is a Long Island native who started her career as a licensed veterinary technician, graduating from the Suffolk County Community College Veterinary technician program in 2008. She worked as a technician on Long Island while attending Molloy College, where she graduated in 2011with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. She then went on to graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016, where she received special recognition for skill in the areas of surgery and critical care.
She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the VMCLI following graduation (2016-2017). She then completed a two-year surgical internship at VMCLI (2017-2019). She spent one additional year on the VMCLI Emergency Service as an ER attending, where she honed her ER and Critical Care skills. A three-year surgical residency at VMCLI followed and was completed in 2023. She became Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2026. During her surgical residency, she obtained specialized training in BioMetrix total hip replacement, TPLO, TTA, and Arthroscopy.
Her current interests and professional focus include soft tissue surgery (thoracic, urogenital, biliary) , orthopedic surgery, as well as minimally invasive surgery and regenerative medicine. Dr. Scaglione also enjoys collaboration with the cardiology department for non-invasive intervention for congenital cardiovascular defects.
