Bio
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Nicole Colloca has loved animals for as long as she can remember. She followed that passion into veterinary school, earning her degree in 2008 before moving to San Diego to build a new life and career. In 2011 she joined Surfside Animal Hospital, a place that quickly became her second home. After completing her U.S. licensing and earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2017, she continued to grow within the practice and now serves proudly as Medical Director.
For 15 years, Surfside has been her professional home. Dr. Colloca’s mission is simple: to provide the best medical care possible while always being honest, compassionate, and respectful. She cherishes the trust her clients place in her and the long-term relationships she has built with families over the years.
Throughout her time at Surfside, Dr. Colloca has shared countless moments with the families who trust her with their beloved pets, moments of joy, comfort, healing, and sometimes grief. She believes deeply in care that is not only excellent but also guided by empathy, kindness, and genuine connection.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Colloca treasures time with her family, especially her son Enzo, who is the light of her life. She also enjoys going to the gym, spending time at the beach, and visiting loved ones back in Brazil. She shares her heart and home with her two little dogs, Chiquito and Foxy, who remind her every day why she chose this profession.
