Bio
Dr. Yelena Bruzon grew up in Puerto Rico. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville in 2022. While there, she completed a certificate and internships in shelter medicine and served as president of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association.
After graduation, she began her career in emergency medicine in Jacksonville, working under the mentorship of a board-certified criticalist. Her medical interests include renal, endocrine, and gastrointestinal disease management, with a special passion for geriatric care and supporting families through difficult decisions. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she values clear communication with clients during stressful emergencies.
Yelena moved to Colorado in 2025 to continue her work in emergency and critical care with the Northside Emergency Pet Clinic team. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking Colorado’s trails with her five dogs and exploring new foods as a passionate foodie.
